What IS & IS NOT ADHD

By: Allie McLaughlin

We are fast approaching a new school year which brings its own natural stressors. There is often fear and apprehension due to approaching new experiences. Cincinnati Renewed Wellness encourages teachers and parents to check out the Child Mind Institute. It is a wonderful resource to better understand your student or child. It allows for the gears to start churning toward awareness of challenges, normalization of behaviors, and appreciation of each child's unique life experience. Below is a link to an article about ADHD. This is one of the most commonly misdiagnosed disorders in children. Our hope is that this article assists with creating a simplistic understanding of behaviors and reduces the "jump to conclusion" approach due to wanting to find an answer or reason. It is important to note that this is a starting point and not a comprehensive education. We hope this allows you to take a peak into the complexity of a child's mind which will lead to stronger relationships through genuine understanding.

Happy Monday! We hope you find your balance!
